ANGERMION is a refereed yearbook for the analysis of historical and
contemporary Anglo-German cultural transfers, mediations and reception
processes. Literary criticism, literary theory, cultural studies, media
studies and the history of ideas are the key fields of interest for the
yearbook.
The call for contributions for volume 2 (2009) is now open. The volume is
scheduled to appear in autumn 2009. The theme for this volume is:
National Concerns in Global Perspectives:
Anglo-German Cultural Morphologies
We invite contributions that consider the Anglo-German context of cultural
globalism. Contributions may address questions such as:
• How, if at all, have Anglophone and Germanic cultures reconciled national
concerns with global and/or cosmopolitan aspirations?
• How has the tension between national and global concerns shaped both cultures?
• How has this tension as played out in one culture been observed by the other?
We also welcome contributions on Anglo-German themes from the field of
literary history, including world literature.
Alongside the specific theme for each issue, we reserve space for essays on
diverse topics relating to Anglo-German cultural transfer. We welcome
individual essays on such topics as the comparative studies of literary and
cultural criticism, inter-cultural prejudices, music culture, visual media,
popular culture, myth research, and the study of urbanism and provincialism
as cultural phenomena.
Essays should be 5000-6000 words (including notes) and should be submitted
electronically to Dr. Michael John Kooy, by 1 April 2009

Authors are advised to prepare their manuscripts according to the style
sheet of the publisher. The stylesheet can be found at:

Essays will be considered by the editor, the co-editors and appropriate
members of the advisory board. Anonymous reports and editorial decisions
will be communicated to authors promptly. Contributors may be asked to make
revisions in the light of the reports. Authors will receive one set of page
proofs prior to publication, and 20 off-prints of their article following
publication. Copies of the yearbook will be made available to contributors
at a discount of 20%.
