Please, which periodical is ISSN 0003-5815?
Is there any chance of a quick summary of the reasoning why Mam = Medlock?
All the sources that I have seen say that this Mam is Celtic for "female
breast", thus "breast-shaped hill".
Where does the river name Medlock come from? My English placename etymology
book blanks out on the name Medlock.
