Dear Nilima!
I would like to join the development management study group.
Unfortunately I am not able to attend the forthcoming conference in
November, but I am looking forward to participating in meetings and
research seminars in the future.
I am a post doc -reseacher at the Institute for Development Studies at
the University of Helsinki, Finland. I did my PhD on the
contradictions in the partnership between Finnish and Tanzanian NGOs
(see http://ethesis.helsinki.fi/julkaisut/kay/kasva/vk/kontinen/ ).
Currently I am also working as an OD practitioner in an umbrella
organisation of 270 Finnish NGOs engaged in development co-operation.
This is a great opportunity to build bridges between practice and
research. We are undertaking a research on how NGOs learn to "assess"
their work - on the basis of what kind of motivations, by which tools
etc...
I am sure that the development management study group could provide me
with an inspiring platform to share my interest - since the academic
community engaged in similar issues in Finland is very small.
Looking forward to hearing about the results of the meeting and the
future activities.
Yours,
Tiina Kontinen (PhD)
