History and Philosophy of Geography Research Group
Sponsored Sessions
RGS-IBG Annual Conference 2009, Manchester
The History and Philosophy of Geography Research Group invites suggestions
for sponsored sessions at the RGS/IBG Annual Conference 2009, Manchester,
August 26-28. We welcome suggestions for sessions across our remit,
interpreted broadly, as the histories and/or philosophies of human geography,
physical geography and associated fields, or in philosophies, theories and
methods related to geography. Proposals for co-sponsored sessions with
other Research Groups are also welcome.
HPGRG sponsorship can provide promotion for your session, help manage
timetabling clashes, and enable bidding for funding for Research Group guests
and awards for postgraduate presenters in your sessions.
Please send an abstract of your proposed themed session (c. 200-250 words),
together with an indication of proposed format (e.g. papers or panel
discussion, number of papers, use of discussants) and number of 1h 40minute
slots requested, to Richard Powell, Chair HPGRG ([log in to unmask])
by 18 NOVEMBER 2008.
Please also direct any questions to Richard Powell. Further details about the
Annual Conference 2009 can be found at www.rgs.org/ac2009.
