Dear all,
As promised please find below the web link to the new guidance documents
posted yesterday on the EA website following the Ecological Risk Assessment
framework launch in London (as per my previous email).
Here is the link from the land quality pages of the Environment Agency
website covering all the new guidance documents:

Happy reading - I am sure there will be many questions and much debate over
the coming weeks.
There are some interesting SSVs proposed (for 12 compounds) and some
interesting (and potentially expensive) possible requirements for biological
testing and/ or ecosurveys. All in all what is clear is that this is just
the beginning and essentially sets out a framework (that is not statutory)
on how to assess Part 2A sites for ecological risk to designated
ecoreceptors. Also note that Natural England wish to include UK BAP sites
among these designations. Happy to try to address specific questions if
forthcoming. What is clear is that consultation with experts will be a
necessity.
Best wishes
Jason
