Hi Ian
I don't know of anyone recharging this fee. The only problem that you may face if you try to, is that multiple conditions may be submitted for discharge under the fee, so for instance, they may submit landscaping details, colour schemes, drainage details and contaminated land reports together. I've had to point out many times to developers they're wasting their money if they submit anything prior to a verification report.
Regards
Ciara

Subject: Rechrging planning department
All,
We have been asked to look at our existing budget to see if we can find any savings and at the same time see if we can charge for anything else.
The thing that springs to mind is recharging the planning department for contaminated land consultations, since now under the provisions of the Town and Country Planning (Fees for Applications and Deemed Applications)
(Amendment) (England) Regulations 2008, there is a statutory national fee for discharging conditions. The fee is £25 for householder development and £85 for others. Has anyone in Contaminated Land got a slice of this cake?
Does anyone currently recharge the planning department, if so do you charge per application, or a one off annual fee. Also, if possible, what is the level of charge.
Regards
