Would a standard hands-free telephone suffice or are there more issues?

Subject: Telephone and Lightwriter Use
We have a client with MND who is using a Lightwriter.
This patient has family in Australia and wants to be able to communicate
using the Lightwriter. Yet doesn't want to have to keep on picking up
and putting down the phone.
Can anyone suggest a solution. If the Lightwriter is not appropriate
then we ae willing to look at alternative technology.
Thanks,
Matthew Pepper
