The Respiratory CEDD has strategic and operational responsibility to GSK
for its disease area portfolios from Lead Optimisation through Proof of
(Clinical) Concept (PoC). That is, they bring well-defined accountability
and entrepreneurial drive to manage the progression of compounds in the
"middle" of the pipeline. While drawing from the broader resources of the
organisation, the CEDDs bridge the conventional gap between discovery and
development and bring together medicinal chemists, biologists and
physicians who concentrate on specific disease groupings.
Discovery Biometrics Respiratory (DB-Resp) comprises of statisticians and
programmers dedicated to the support for the Respiratory CEDD. DB-Resp
provides both strategic support for the respiratory CEDD (by being aligned
with CEDD objectives, dedicated to CEDD work, and developing
methodological solutions to long-standing clinical trial design and
analysis issues) as well as tactical support (we are accountable for
delivery of all respiratory CEDD statistical and programming support, from
Candidate Selection to Proof of Confidence). Within DB-Resp there are two

- Ensure adequate resources are available to meet agreed timelines and
regulatory requirements.
- May interact independently with regulatory agencies on issues relevant
to support areas.
- Contribute to budget management.
- Effectively enhance the contribution of statistical thinking to a key
therapeutic area within Drug Discovery.
- Drive and embed the application of statistical innovation to help drive
the respiratory CEDD portfolio.

to travel to both sites to support and manage staff at each of the sites
- Some time next year, it is expected that the position will be moved to
Stockley Park (as the Greenford teams are expected to move there) or

Overall, the percentage of travel between sites will be higher if you are
Stevenage based.
