Thanx! The article provides a plain and even-toned description of the event
and some of its speakers. Like...wait, the concept is arising from the
fog of
memory...what's that word...oh, I got it! Like a newspaper.
Oddly enough, it's the alternative press outlets like The Willamette
Weekly that are preserving many of the traditions of modern journalism.
This observation equally goes for some of the once-alternative esoteric and
occulture movements. They have emerged as preservers of an outlook that
sensationalizing media is leaving behind.
I note the article's nudging us toward a little techno-magery in our
lives, too!
(My favorite esoteric and occult bookstore ever, Berkeley's departed
Shambala
Books, had a nice little shelf section devoted entirely to the works of
Phillip K.
Dick and associated critical post-modern commentary.)
