I have been asked by Kim Montacute (Yorks and Humber SHA) to circulate
details of the following vacancy.
Specialist Librarian / Knowledge Manager
Agenda for Change Band 6
37.5 hours per week
Temporary - 18 months (possibility of a permanent post if funding
becomes available)
Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust
Closing date 15/10/08
This post will be based in the Informatics Department at St Catherine's,
Doncaster however the post holder will be required to travel throughout
the Trust including to Rotherham, Doncaster, Scunthorpe or Grimsby so
the ability to travel around the geographical work area is required.
The post holder will work closely with the Information Governance
Manager and the Head of Informatics and Knowledge Services to initially
undertake a project to:-
* establish the full requirements for implementing Trust-wide Library
and Knowledge Services that meet the standards set out in NLH National
Service Framework
* develop and run a professional library and knowledge service for the
Trust Staff and Service Users, which meets the above criteria;
* provide specialist library and knowledge services to the Trust with
emphasis on mental health and management topics.
The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience of working
within a library, knowledge or information service, have specialist
information and library knowledge and expertise and will hold a first
degree or postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Studies
or have an equivalent level of qualification or experience. Ideally you
will also be a Chartered Librarian (MCLIP).
It is important that candidates have the confidence and ability to
effectively communicate complex information to users at all levels of
the hierarchy and with differing skill sets individually and in groups,
the ability to work on their own initiative, making decisions without
direct reference to a line manager and have the ability to plan a
project which will influence ways of working across all clinical and
management services in the Trust.
The Trust reference standard of computer competence is the European
Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) and the applicant should hold, or be
prepared to undertake this qualification.
