Dear list,
this is a user testimony; a feature probably available for some time now,
but I have just become aware it, and will be happy to brag about it to my
students, too.
Opera, the browser I am using, makes it very simple to add custom searches
(for any search field on any internet page) to its address bar or its
search field:
http://www.opera.com/support/tutorials/opera/using/coolfeatures/#fastsearches
.
I have used this --- without any problems --- to set up a search in the
Lewis and Short full text in Perseus under PhiloLogic
(http://www.lib.uchicago.edu/efts/PERSEUS/Reference/lewisandshort.html).
Searching the Liddel and Scott, or the text collections, will be, of
course, equally trivial.
Thanks to Perseus, Perseus under PhiloLogic, and Opera, classicists can
have a really nice feature in their browsers ("at their fingertips").
Now, to check if Firefox has something similar...
Yours,
