Hi,
I have to start by saying that I'm quite ignorant about metadata standards,
so I may not even be able to formulate my question using the correct
terminology.
We're trying to implement Dublin Core in a metadata repository that is part
of a prototype. We need to catalogue resources so a search functionality
we're going to offer can discover the relevant resources. This search is
made up of a free text box, where users will enter keywords, and three
multi-select lists, where the user will select the relevant items to filter
their search.
I've gone through the process of matching the metadata elements we require
with the DC elements. I'm ok with some, however I cannot work out what to
use for keywords and for the three elements that those multi-select lists
represent.
The three lists and the values they will contain, are as follows:
Student Groups
Visual impairment
Hearing impairment
Physical impairment
Specific learning difficulties
Course Type
Full courses
Short courses
Topic
Adaptations to computers
Assisstive technologies
Assessments
Communication
I've spent some time looking at your archives as I thought the answer could
be there, however haven't found anything relevant so any pointers or
suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all
fili
