Middlesex University is pleased to announce that it is to host a dynamic
symposium on hate crime in collaboration with Victim Support Enfield. This
event will bring together professionals, academics and victims to engage
with this highly topical subject. The day will combine workshops and talks
from leaders in the field, foster knowledge sharing, and promote an
inter-disciplinary approach to hate crime and its effects.
Further information, travel directions, and a registration form can be
obtained from our website at http://www.mdx.ac.uk/hssc/business.
Four tracks guide this event:
- Victims’ Voices: highlighting the impact of hate crime on its victims, and
the ways in which this can be addressed.
- Criminal Justice Responses: considering the response of the Police,
Probation Service, Crown Prosecution Service and the legal profession to
hate crime offenders.
- Academic Approaches: exploring the state of the knowledge with respect to
hate crime, and considering future directions for research.
- International Perspectives: positioning hate crime on a broader stage,
with focus on the increasingly global aspect of hate crime.
