**Free Publication: University life uncovered : making sense of the student experience**
'University life uncovered: making sense of the student experience' is a new research monograph focusing on student experiences of Higher Education in the UK. The publication builds on themes explored at a conference hosted by SWAP in November 2007. Papers come from practitioners allied to a wide range of cognate academic subject areas including Social Policy, Social Work, Education, Humanities, Creative Arts, Business as well as student support and related university initiatives.
The monograph showcases some of the ways in which members of this broad social policy community are researching the student experience and their findings to date. It offers a framework for the examination and exploration of some aspects of student experience and associated cultures. Lone parents, first year students, Chinese and international students are amongst the groups researched. Issues of identity, student accommodation, drinking and term time work are some of the issues discussed.
This free publication is available in print and online.
