Dear all,
The Google Analytics session I proposed below is now going ahead on Tuesday, 7th October at the University of Aberdeen. It is in two parts; a morning non-technical course for marketing type folk, and an afternoon one for the more technically minded. Further information on the two courses from the trainer, Vicky Brock, is available at:
http://www.abdn.ac.uk/web/analytics.shtml
I expect around 14 delegates on each course.
At the time of writing there are about four places available on the non-technical course and ten for the technical one. The cost for each course will be around £80 per head, depending on interest (i.e., if you go to both courses you pay £160). This is a non-profit charge to cover Vicky's fees.
I've still to finalise details, but am ready to accept provisional bookings on a first-come-first-served basis by email.
Colin Hamilton from Strathclyde had intimated that he might be willing to give a Sitestat session on or around this time as well. I'll let you know if this is to go ahead.
Thanks,
Mike

Subject: Analytics Course
Hi folks,
Further to Catherine's message below and after her enthusiastic endorsment, we're considering hosting an Analytics training event here at the University of Aberdeen, and would be happy to open this up to the Scottish Webmongers.
If anyone's interested can they drop me a line so I can get an idea of numbers.
Cheers,
Mike

Subject: CPD course - second attempt!
Hi folks,
Sorry, don't know what happened to that email, so fingers crossed this one make it okay.
I'd just like to alert you to a course that we are running, starting on 17th September for 15 weeks, on online customer insight and web value optimisation.
It's being run for us by Vicky Brock of Highland Business Research (see Vicky's blog http://blog.highlandbusinessresearch.com/), who has done some training with us on Google Analytics and she's excellent. She is chair of the Web Analytics Association and is affiliated with Google, but knows a lot about other systems (including Nedstat!).
If you're interested in the course you'll find details on our CPD site www.cpd.uhi.ac.uk/cpd/module/15 or you can contact [log in to unmask] to grill her about the course. Having spoken to Vicky about it, I think it's more technical than the description on the site would imply.
I've signed up for it - my first foray back into study since I graduated seven years ago! Having worked with Vicky already, I think it will be really worthwhile.
Best wishes and maybe see you on the 12th.
Catherine
