100% right, good quality tinstone can be reduced to metal at the lower
temperature mentioned, I've produced globules of tin metal in this way
myself. Relevant if you're considering accidental smelting on an open
fire (or deliberate investigation of materials) but not a practical
smelting temperature. Even quite good concentrate wants to be about
1100C to smelt effectively, producing a good fluid slag and this will
rise rapidly with certain minerals present.
