Hello there
I've recently had an e-mail from someone who is contemplating a home birth with her second baby. She had a very straightforward and enjoyable birth first time round and declined oxytocics for delivery of the placenta. She subsequently had a 1200ml PPH and manual removal of a retained placenta. She has been told that if she has a home birth this time she should have early use of oxytocics and active management of third stage. She will agree to this if there is evidence to support the advice but she has not been able to find anything and neither can I. Is anyone aware of any research that might help her make her decision?
Very many thanks
