The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin
announces a
Karl Schädler postdoctoral fellowship
for an outstanding junior scholar. The fellowship is financed from the
"Liechtenstein-Foundation for History of Science". Applicants should
work on projects in the history and epistemology of biology, that can
contribute to the on-going project "A Cultural History of Heredity". A

. The fellowships are open to scholars of all nationalities who have
received their PhD within the last 5 years.
The stipend is 2000 € per month, starting from January 1, 2009 (or at
the earliest), over a one or two years period, depending on the date
of the beginning.
Women are encouraged to apply. Qualifications being equal, precedence
will be given to candidates with disabilities.
Applicants for the fellowship are invited to send a curriculum vitae,
a brief research proposal (maximum 1000 words), a sample text (chapter
of the dissertation or published article) and two letters of
recommendation
