Jodi Awards - latest news
We are delighted to announce that the Jodi Mattes Trust, the organising
body of the Jodi Awards has now become a registered charity
(no.1125697).
The official objects of the charity, as recorded in the trust deed are:
"To advance the education of the public in the arts in particular but
not exclusively through the promotion of equal access for disabled
people to culture and the creative arts through digital technology by:
(i) raising awareness of the barriers to the experience of
cultural and creative life;
(ii) promoting best practice in the cultural and creative
industries;
(iii) developing new approaches within cultural and creative
organisations to using design, communication and interpretation in the
service of accessible experiences."
Reminder: Deadline for nominations
The deadline for nominations for this year's Jodi Awards is 3 October
2008
The Jodi Awards are for museums, galleries, libraries, archives and
heritage venues that use technology to provide access to collections and
learning for disabled people, e.g. websites, interactive objects,
audio-guides, PDAs and virtual reality shows.

The Jodi Awards will be given at the British Museum on 5 December 2008,
following a Museums Association.one-day conference "Designing for
disability: digital media in context" jointly organised by the Jodi
Mattes Trust.
