Sorry for the little squares in my previous message. can I put them in pinyin now?
1). The Chinese for 'work experience' in the core vocab list is 'gong1zuo4 jing1yan4'
2). I thought Year 10's work experience is similar to 'she4hui4 shi2jian4' in China.
3). The question I quoted from the Edexcel recommended questions is
'Xue2xiao4 gei3 ni3 an1pai2 de gong1zuo4 jing1yan4 shi4 shen2me?'

Regarding to the 'Work Experience', ' ?shíh ?sí ' is commonly used in Taiwan to refer to the term in question, is it a popularly seen/used term in China too?
In Taiwan, we say 'MP san' , 'iPod' and 'PDA' too. There is no fixed Mandarin translated terms for those devices.
Any suggestions and discussions relevant to the difference language usage between China and Taiwan are welcome!
yishan.

Responding to their real life, Edexcel includes a word '????' for 'work experience' in its GCSE Chinese Core Vocab list. Having observed what they do in their 'Work Experience' weeks, I have realised that it is actually quite similar to '????' in China. As a teacher examiner I always feel reluctant to choose the topic of 'Work Experience', as I always feel I am not speaking natural Chinese when I ask students '????????????????'. I would rather ask them '????????????????'.
