Electronic Resources Librarian and Trainer

Salary: £20,225 to £26,123 pa

The post holder is required to perform a variety of tasks to support the delivery of the library and information service to meet the needs of all UHB Trust staff.
Key responsibilities include:
1.To develop, manage and deliver information retrieval skills training for all library users in order to support the highest standards of clinical care, education, training and research. 2.To develop and maintain access to electronic resources to enhance 24 hour access to quality clinical information 3.The administration of the Mediated Literature Search Service offered by the library. 4.To participate in the Dedicated Librarian Service, providing specialised services to specific departments. 5.The provision and maintenance of all e-resources for the library service. 6.The administration of the Athens Authentication system 7.To train new library staff and keeping staff informed of relevant new developments.
Qualifications, skills, experience:
Degree and/or postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Science. ECDL. Advanced Literature searching skills. Advanced internet searching skills. Expert user of MS office. Ability to communicate complex and specialist knowledge at the appropriate level during training sessions. Effective communication at all levels both verbal and written, together with the ability to relate to staff, peers, medical staff, and other professional groups and external bodies. Ability to work without direct supervision. Excellent team worker. Ability to work on own initiative. Ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines. Good attention to detail. Excellent teaching/training skills. Theoretical knowledge of Adult Learning methods and styles. Knowledge of the principles of Evidence Based Health Care. Expert knowledge of health care clinical databases and electronic resources. Production of promotional material. Experience in an NHS, academic or special library. Proven training experience.
