Head of Research Services and Special Collections (Grade 9)
Salary in the range: £42,791 - £49,606
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic information professional to
join the Senior Management Team at the University of Sussex Library and lead
the development of our Research Services and internationally renowned
Special Collections.
Reporting to the Librarian, you will be responsible for developing strategy
and policy in all matters relating to research support and special
collections and leading and managing teams of staff.
Key Responsibilities:
To make a major contribution to the strategic and operational management of
the Library as an active member of the Library’s Senior Management Team
To lead, motivate and direct the Research Services and Special Collections
Teams to ensure delivery of efficient and effective services.
To lead the planning and delivery of information resources and services in
support of the research needs of the University
To have strategic oversight of the development and exploitation of the
University’s Special Collections
It is essential you have a degree or equivalent qualification, substantial
recent experience of working in a similar or transferable role, an
understanding of issues affecting Higher Education, experience of managing
and leading staff and projects and excellent communication and presentation
skills.
