I'm aware that several academic libraries are offering open access reservations as a service. If you do, I'd be interested to know if:
- There are issues with students hiding stock elsewhere in the library (if so, do you know the proportion of stock this happens with)
- You have RFID and this helps minimise mis-shelving/losing stock
- Do your customers see it as an improvement?
- Do your helpdesk/counter staff see it as an improvement?
- Where in the library you site the stock
- What order you have the stock on the shelves (ie author or borrower)
- How long have you offered the service
