Colleagues,
As the EU gets back to work after the holidays, our latest news update includes items on:
- 'Europeana', the European digital library, to be launched this November
- Archives co-operation in Europe, which has been "surprisingly successful over the last two decades"
- Blowtorches and lacrosse sticks - which we now know are amongst the items passengers are prohibited from taking on board aircraft in the EU
- Public consultations on climate change and on ICT policy
- the 'Dublin system' of asylum applications, which MEPs want to be made fairer
- Reports on gender equality, RTD, and the agricultural situation in the EU
Further details of these and other items are at www.eia.org.uk
If you were hoping to attend the 'Finding out about the EU' course in Portsmouth this coming Wednesday, we've had to cancel it, so don't turn up. Sign up instead for the Edinburgh version, on 15 October - details at www.eia.org.uk/training.htm
Regards,
Eric
