Hi All,
We are currently reviewing our ILL policy with respect to loaning to overseas libraries. We do not currently do this, although do provide copies through direct document supply. We also participate in the IFLA voucher scheme as we do borrow from overseas.
I would be interested to hear about the experience of other academic libraries that do loan abroad. For example:
1. Do you lend through the BL scheme, or through direct ILL and the IFLA voucher scheme?
2. Do you have any problems with books being lost in transit?
3. How do you ship material?
4. Do you apply any specific conditions to overseas loans, or do you decline to lend certain material overseas that you would otherwise loan in the UK?
5. What do you charge?
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Gerry
