Once your institution is in the UK Federation, you are also in a position to start providing your own services - both internally and externally - using FAM technology. This could be to make the deployment of internal web-services easier and more consistent, to share resources between institutions or to provide resources to the whole UK Federation (and beyond).
Netskills is offering free places* on its new training programme:
Federated Access Management: Core Skills for Service Providers
This is a two-day workshop, developed with JISC funding, to address the core technical skills and practical steps required to act as a Service Provider (SP) within the UK Access Management Federation.
You can book now for the event taking place in London on the 30th-31st October 2008
