Dear Ramesh,
I have written some software that reads such .txt files converted
from .idf format.
The BeGaze software that probably came with your SMI tracker is quite
capable at measuring fixations over 2D images. In our lab, however, we
focus primarily on analysing saccades to discrete target positions and
needed software optimised for measuring saccades rather than
fixations. Our software ('Samara') can also display the raw data
superimposed upon background bitmaps but is nowhere near as capable in
that particular role as BeGaze.
I'd be be happy to share the executable software with you. It is cross-
platform (runs best on OS X, but used primarily on Windows, and can
run on Linux too). Contact me off-list if you'd like to try it or
discuss if it would suit your particular requirements.
The freely available Matlab-based 'iLab' project could read old iView
files but last time I checked, it hadn't been updated to read data
from the new format iView X files. You might want to see if that has
changed.
