Three positions at the University of Pittsburgh:
Two Assistant Professor Positions in Politics & Culture. The Sociology
Department at the University of Pittsburgh seeks to fill two positions
as we build a program in Politics and Culture, adding a second position
to our previously advertised search. We define the area of Politics &
Culture broadly, from micro studies of interpersonal and intergroup
interaction to macro studies of global processes. The appointments will
be tenure-track at the Assistant Professor level and will begin in the
Fall of 2009, pending budgetary approval. The positions will require
demonstrable excellence and promise in research and teaching. A
candidate's research may employ any methodology and be set in any
geographic region.

Advanced Assistant to Early Full Professor. The Department of Sociology
at the University of Pittsburgh seeks a candidate for a tenured or
tenure-track position whose work will complement existing departmental
emphasis in Social Movements and in Politics and Culture and whose
teaching will include graduate and undergraduate courses in the area of
race. A candidate's research may employ any methodology and be set in
any geographic region. We are seeking to make an appointment at
anywhere from the advanced Assistant Professor to the early Full
Professor level, pending budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence and promise in both
publication and instruction. We will begin reading applications on
