Hi Mikael, all,
I guess this is a somewhat belated comment on
http://dublincore.org/documents/2008/03/31/dc-dsp/
but it's something I'm coming up against when thinking about a DCAP.
AFAICT, the current spec doesn't include a constraint which would allow
me to say that, for a particular "description template", a "described
resource URI" is required, or indeed, disallowed - I guess I struggle a
bit to come up with a realistic requirement for the latter choice, but I
wouldn't rule it out.
Where the "described resource" is also a "value" then I think the
requirement can be addressed by the use of a "Value URI occurrence
constraint" (6.6.3), but if the description is "standalone" i.e. the
"described resource" isn't also a "value", it doesn't seem to be
possible to specify that a "described resource URI" is required.
That seems like it may be quite a common requirement? Is it
possible/useful to add such a constraint? Or was it omitted because it
would be difficult to implement?
Thanks
Pete
