My view is that as the replacement model is only out 'for evaluation'
and, as far as I know, there is nothing in black and white from EA/DEFRA
saying that it is correct and suitable for use, the exisiting SGV/GAC
and our own CLEA UK based in-house numbers are all we can rely on.

Of course the new framework is published for use, but is anyone actually
using this in anger until the EA/DEFRA issue the final software, the
first batch of new TOX / SGV reports and guidance on how to assess what
an 'unacceptable' risk actually is (MoE etc.)? Given the issues already
highlighted (and quickly amended by the EA) around the dust Transport
Factor and other typos and mistakes you would be brave to rely on the
new documents / software. Without the comfort of an offical 'OK' I'm not
sure many people will put their head on the block and expose their PI
insurance to a poorly proofed, half baked and half issued review of
guidance...

Just my own opinion, but it seems that many others are thinking similar
thoughts.

This mail has originated outside your organization, either from an

As the model that was used to create them has been withdrawn I would say
that they are no longer valid

Are the CIEH/LQM GACs still valid in light of the recent DEFRA/EA
developments?

Can the group manager (Paul) confirm LQMs position with respect to these
numbers.
