Dear Dr Kenny,
Yes, we have the same laser in our cardiac cath labs and measure the
output using an Ophir F150A which is recommended for use with high power
surgical lasers. The detector is still in one piece and functional and
gives good and expected results!
Kind Regards

Subject: excimer
Dear list,
We will be performing a risk assessment on this new procedure here for
photoablation of unwanted intravascular tissue using a Spectranetics
CVX-300 excimer laser in our hospital. We are concerned that the energy
density of the excimer laser may exceed the damage threshold for our
Ophir detector. Here are some of the details for the laser:
Wavelength: 308 nm
Pulse width: 125-200 ns (fwhm)
Energy density: 30-60 mJ/mm2 (max)
Frequency: 40 pps (max)
Has anybody had experience with measuring the output from excimer laser
systems?
Many thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Pat
