Imagine the huge quantities of digital information produced by the UK government each and every year, in formats that range from emails and text documents to videos and graphics. Now imagine the challenge of ensuring that all of this vital information is not just preserved for future generations, but also made as accessible as possible. That is the crucial job performed by the innovative digital teams at work within The National Archives - and here is your chance to join them.
You will join our industry-leading Digital Preservation team, which manages the transfer and storage of digital information from government departments. Working closely with our Records Management and Cataloguing teams, you will analyse digital data and support IT systems to ensure the effective and robust transfer of information. Qualified to postgraduate level in Archives, Information Science or Computing (or with equivalent professional experience), you will bring an expert grasp of electronic preservation, XML and associated technologies.
