Chair in Statistics

Imperial College London is ranked in the top five universities of the world, according to the 2007 Times Higher Education Supplement league tables.
Applications are invited for a Chair in Statistics, with effect from March 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Candidates will be expected to have an internationally leading research record and strong leadership qualities, ideally in areas which match the strengths which already exist in the Statistics Section, but those with proven ability in other areas will also be considered. The successful candidates will contribute to the undergraduate teaching program within the Department, to the ancillary courses program for other departments, and possibly on various postgraduate teaching programs.
The posts will be based in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College, on the South Kensington campus.
Salary will be on the Professorial scale, minimum £63,000 per annum.
