As far a I know the backups have continued. Vito changes tapes
periodically. However, I've not actually put it to the test unlike a
file from the user space. If there's any doubt I could set up an
rdiff-backup cron job to backup to a disk on another machine.
Unless there are strong objections, we should have all the starjava code
together under subversion, as part of the Starlink Lifeboat, regardless
of Astrogrid additions. Surely the source would still be available to
AG or anyone else if Mark moves on to new pastures.
There's another reason. The former Starlink hardware could always
breakdown at any time. It's not being closely monitored or maintained.
