I think last time I voiced an opinion on this it was: yes, let's get
it done before the end of the year (2007). Since then it's become a
bit less pressing, since I thought I was going to have to put some
astrogrid code in it, but looks like I don't.
My current feeling is a bit more along the lines, it's not broken
so there's no hurry to fix it - this is on the assumption that the
repository is regularly backed up at RAL (surely the case - Malcolm,
can you confirm?). Things that would motivate me to do something
about it would be (a) I and/or Peter were likely to disappear soon,
making it harder to do in the future or (b) we needed to provide
write access for people or projects beyond the ones currently using it.
I guess (a) is never out of the picture, for me at any rate.
If you and Peter think we should bite the bullet sooner rather than
later though, for the above reasons or others, I'll go along with it.
