Advanced Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Astronomy and
Astrophysics of the University of Lisbon (CAAUL).
CAAUL has an open call for Advanced Post-doctoral Researchers. The
position is for 5 years starting before the end of 2008. The net yearly
income is above 42 000 euros (before taxes) corresponding to the salary
of an Assistant Professor. The contracts are aimed at researchers with
expertise in any of the areas currently represented at CAAUL, with
preference being given to applications in the areas of Galaxy Formation
and Evolution or Planetary Sciences. Expertise in long-wavelength
interferometry and the willingness to participate in the commissioning
and Early Science phases of the ALMA project will also be preferential
factors.
The applicants should have a relevant scientific curriculum and
publication record and have significant experience in their field of
research. They will be expected to supervise research students and to
propose and conduct new research projects and funding applications
(national and international), as well as lead the participation of
CAAUL, in relevant international initiatives in their field of research.
Three years experience as a post-doc is preferred, although exceptional
situations may be considered.
