Croquet is basically peer to peer virtual world, it allows you to
bring in much more media and related screens. You create your world
then everyone connects to it, but they can create their own and have
their friends connect. It is fairly simple to set up. Building in
croquet is a bit different, but if i was going to do a class and
wanted to keep it in the 'classroom' then croquet seems to me to be
the best option. go experiment with it, you may disagree.
