Department of Civil, Structural
and Environmental Engineering
The Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering at TCD
invites applications for a PhD studentship to focus on transport choice
behaviour in the context of climate change. The project is one of seven
studentships funded as part of a programme entitled: Environment and
Climate Change: Impacts and Responses project funded by the HEA PRTLI 4
Programme. The project involves collaboration between TCD, NUIG, UCC,
NUIM, QUB, UL, CIT, Met Eireann and the Finnish Centre of Excellence.
The aim of the programme, of which the studentship is part, is to develop a

ecosystems to underpin legislative and socio-economic development. As part
of the PhD structured programme, the successful applicant will be required to
take a number of taught modules as part of their PhD.
Applicants with good honours degrees in civil engineering, statistics,
economics, psychology and related disciplines will be considered.
Funding for each PhD project is sufficient to cover a student stipend of
approximately
€14,000 per year and EU fees.
