NEW FREE TEXT SEARCH FACILITY
Good news for site visitors who like to be able to type in their own search terms. Turn to:
http://findings.org.uk/doc-search_free.htm
and try out our new free text search facility. You can:
**Cast your net wide by searching for documents which contain ANY of the words you list; use this
for example to list all the common ways of referring to the concept you are interested in so you
find documents whatever terminology they use;
**Get more specific by limiting the search to documents which contain ALL those words; entering for
example contingency management will exclude all documents which include just the term management,
focusing your search on the topic of contingency management;
**Get more specific still by combining either of those searches with a list of words NONE of which
must appear in the document; this tells the search engine to find documents which contain the ALL or
ANY term(s) but to filter out those which also contain the NONE term(s);
Some tips. Remember we use UK English. Ending a word with an * is the same as entering all the words
which start with those letters, eg, therap* will find (or exclude) documents which contain either
the words therapy or therapies or therapeutic. For the moment we are unable to implement phrase
searching between quotation marks so just enter your words separated by spaces.
These searches trawl through the document's title, brief abstract, keywords, main text, extended
text, and citations. This means that sometimes the term(s) you have entered will not be found in the
first version of document you look at but will be found in the Extended Text accessible from that
document.

IMPROVED SUBJECT OPTIONS
Our long standing subject search facility at:
http://findings.org.uk/doc-search.htm
has also been improved in a small but important way.
Now at the bottom of the search screen you'll find an option to list the MOST RECENTLY PUBLISHED
documents first OR those MOST RECENTLY ADDED TO THE SITE. Use RECENTLY PUBLISHED to see the most up
to date analyses we have done. Use RECENTLY ADDED to check what has been added to the site since you
last did that search. To check what has been newly added to the site overall, combine this option
with checking all the preceding EVERYTHING ON THIS THEME boxes. If you check neither of these
options and or just press your enter key the search defaults to MOST RECENTLY PUBLISHED.
Let us know if there are other options you would find useful for searching the site.
