The Turkish Policy Quarterly is an open access title published by the ARI movement, (ARI HAREKETI) .An independent social movement founded in Istanbul in 1994, which seeks to produce information-based participatory solutions to both domestic and international challenges facing Turkey. Topics covered include Turkish politics, Turkish foreign policy (including coverage of Turkey-EU relations and membership), terrorism and regional security, the rise of Islam in Turkey and its impact on policy. Articles from 2002 onwards can be downloaded from the website.

The Pakistan Research Repository is maintained by the the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. It aims to provide free access to an online collection of PhD and MPhil theses submitted in Pakistani universities. These cover the time period of the 1930s until the current day, although more full text items are available from 1990 onwards. The etheses cover all areas of the sciences, social sciences and humanities. There is a strong emphasis on Pakistan and South Asian economics, history, politics and culture. Also a strong coverage of Islamic politics, philosophy and culture. The site can be browsed or searched by keyword. Most items are offered in English. Copyright information is displayed on the website.

In-extenso is a specialist search engine developed by Revues.org. It indexes the contents of approximately 2,000 specialist academic quality social science and humanities websites chosen by L'Album des sciences sociales plus the contents of a growing number of open access institutional repositories, etheses and eprint archives. It is therefore a useful starting point for tracing examples of research conducted in French universities as well as elsewhere in Europe.The site can be searched by key word. All subject areas of the social sciences are covered with a strong emphasis upon French history, politics and culture. Many materials are French language or produced in Francophone areas.

Calenda is a French language open access title, edited by Revues.org from the du Centre pour l'édition électronique ouverte, le CLEO, which provides information on forthcoming conferences, seminars, coloqiums and other events in the human and social sciences, in France and overseas. It is possible to consult all issues from 2000 onwards from the website. This can be browsed by type of event or subject area. Each item has a resume. All information is offered in French only. Many events are based in France or the Francophone countries.

This website is maintained by the National Institute of Informatics (NII) it provides a portal for cross searching a growing number of key Japanese catalogues and online research repositories, enabling researchers to quickly locate Japanese language (and some English language) research materials covering all aspects of the sciences, social sciences and humanities. They include the CINII scholarly and academic publications navigator database; KAKEN (Service for disclosing the deliverables of grants-in-aid for scientific research) NII-DBR (Academic Research Database Repository). Materials indexed include articles, papers, e-prints; theses and books. A growing number can be accessed in full text online. Users should note that most items are in Japanese only.

This site was created by American Public Media, a non profit public interest radio broadcaster, to provide coverage of the 2008 American presidential elections. It is an interesting example of the use of web 2.0 technology with users being encouraged to get involved in political issues using the idea generator, an online forum for members of the public to report and discuss policy issues. The site also includes other examples of citizen reporting and online interactive games . The latter include choosing a candidate and budget setting. Technical and copyright information is displayed ont he website.

This site provides free access to an online gallery of 350 images from the National Diet Library, Japan. They include statesmen, prime ministers, military officials, and diplomats who have been influential in Japanese society and politics during the 19th and 20th Century. It is possible to browse the site by name or career area. each photograph has added biographical information about the sitter and source references. Information is offered in English or Japanese.

This is the official website of the Archiv bezpeènostních slo¾ek. It is the official archive of the Security Forces and the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia during the period 1945 to 1990. It is therefore a rich source of information on the former Soviet eastern bloc, cold war history and communist government in the former Czechoslovakia. Its website is offered in Czech or English, although at present the English language version is limited in content. The Czech language version includes free access to online secret state documents and audiofiles. These include materials relating to government supression and the 1968 revolution.
