Digital Geography in a Web 2.0 World
15th September 2008.
Urbis Museum in Manchester
Following the success of the inaugural Digital Geography in a Web 2.0 World
event, held on 20th February 2008, Barbican, London, NCeSS will be hosting
the second event at the Urbis Museum in Manchester on 15th September
2008.
Computer visualisation is central to the social sciences both in terms of the
way large data sets are explored and the communication of results to those
we seek to influence and inform.
Visualisation is essential to make sense of very large geographic data sets
quickly, and where it is necessary to predict many alternative spatial patterns,
and where the system is too complex to reduce all analysis to numbers.
This workshop will present a variety of new techniques and methods for
visualizing data which are built around Web 2.0
The event is free to attend, but registration is required to reserve your place.
