To Whom It May Concern,
I have put together a one-man performance based on Kipling's life and poetry. It lasts for up to an hour and is comprised of Kipling's life story, based where possible on extracts from 'A little Something of Myself', and interspersed with dramatic readings of his poetry that includes 'Tommy', 'If', 'The Way Through The Woods', 'Gunga Din', 'Minesweepers', 'The River's Tale', 'Gethsemane', 'My Boy Jack', 'The Smugglers' Song', 'The Glory of the Garden', 'Six Honest Serving Men', etc.
I have performed it to several groups in Surrey over the last year, including WI, U3A and Luncheon Clubs, and it seems to have been well received (and they have invited me back to talk on other topics such as my role as a Town Crier, so it can't have been too bad).
My query is as to whether you are aware of any groups within about a 30-mile radius of Farnham in Surrey that would welcome such a performance. If the group is used to making a payment for speakers then I would request a donation to the Meningitis Trust.
Yours faithfully
Jonathan Jones
