Pavement Materials Assessment
Applications are invited for the above post in the Nottingham Transportation
Engineering Centre to work on a variety of projects concerning the
characterisation and behaviour of pavement construction materials and road
subgrade soils.
Candidates should hold a PhD degree or expect to complete one before the
commencement of employment, preferably in a pavement or geotechnical
engineering field. Self-motivation is a key requirement and candidates must
be able to give evidence of relevant laboratory testing and reporting skills.
The person appointed will be able to take advantage of the Institution of Civil
Engineers’ professional training scheme operated by the University if
appropriate.
Salary will be within the range £25,888 - £33,780 per annum, depending on
qualifications and experience (salary can progress to £36,912 per annum,
subject to performance). This post is available from 1 November 2008 and will
be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 2½ years.
