Ken - could you possibly forward this to the list? It would be much
appreciated.

Hello all, those whom I know and those whom I don't -
I tried to temporarily rejoin the list while the Poetryetc anthology is
in progress, to make things a little less baroquely complicated, but it
seems Joe and Annie think that, "given my history on the list" (!), I am
an undesirable. Que sera sera. Just a quick note and, as Fred Dagg used
to say, I'll get out of your way.
Congratulations to Candice, Andrew, Peter and all those involved in the
anthology. It's a fine project, and I'm very happy to stave off my guilt
complex about shamefully neglecting the Masthead site by hosting the
anthology. Despite my lack of updating in the past couple of years the
site still gets around 80,000 unique visitors a year, so I feel sure
you'll get readers.
Thanks to those who have sent their poems. So far I've received work from:
Sally Evans, Caleb Cluff, Heather Taylor, Sheila Murphy, Patrick
McManus, Larissa Smailo, Tad Richards, Frederick Pollack, Barry Alpert,
Kenneth Wolman and Candice Ward.
You others get off your arses!
Tech things: Word attachments are fine, perhaps the safest. In the body
of the email is fine, as long as it doesn't have any funny typographical
screw ups.
Some have asked when the anthology might appear. I have a very
overcommitted August coming up (details on my blog at
http://theatrenotes.blogspot.com/2008/07/alisons-authorial-august.html -
some dates might interest those who live in Melbourne - I'm certainly
looking forward to the Akhmatova conversation with Orlando Figes, whose
book on life under Stalin, The Whisperers, I finished yesterday). I will
do my absolute best to get the anthology up quickly once I have the full
text, but you will have to bear with me while I negotiate everything. I
will aim for early September, but might not make it.
Excelsior! And all the best
Alison
