books like "Person-Centred Planning with MAPS and PATH" by John O'Brien
and Jack Pearpoint (2004)
In the UK there are various PATH facilitators who are trained to do
this. The Alliance for Inclusive Education is a key partner in UK.
Hope that's helpful

Dear Keith
I would be most interested to see more details of PATH. Where can I find
information about it?

Dear All,
I think this might explain why I had some much trouble learning then
lines of a Pantomime I was in earlier this year.
Approaching retirement I decided to plan rather than just 'get there and
fall off the cliff' into emptiness and boredom. I was lucky enough to be
offered a PATH to help me map out my future and prepare for it.
A PATH is a supported planning mechanism that involves a lot of
imagination, as well as solution-focused thinking and represents one's
future through a large scale, and very memorable, graphic illustration.
Within the process one seeks 'allies' who will help you get to where you
want to be. Designed for disabled people, it is equally helpful for the
more mature among us.
My PATH helped me look and finance, entertainment, further study (now
completing an MA in counselling), the love in my life . . . . . . and a
bit of 'acting'. Two shows down and I am open to offers!!! But learning
the lines is such hard work. Never used to be.
