Evolutionary Multi-objective Optimisation (EMO) is one of the most active research areas in the field of design optimisation. The aim of this project is to develop High Performance Computing (HPC) based EMO methodologies for dealing with high-dimensional optimisation problems. These methodologies will be structurally based on utilising the features of `Cluster Grid' computing facilities. The developed methodology will be applied to a real-life problem from the Defence sector - dealing with flight-trajectory optimisation of modern tactical missiles to meet the challenge of highly manoeuvrable targets.
Entry Requirements: Applicants should have a First or Second Class UK Honours degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or Engineering.
Funding: This studentship will cover the tuition fees at the UK/EU rate only and provide a bursary of up to £10,000 for 1 year.
