Ph.d Course: Comparative analysis of welfare models and welfare reform
From: 2008/11/05 to: 2008/11/07
Subscription Deadline: 2008/09/01
Place: Roskilde University
Whereas welfare state research until recently emphasized the frozen
landscapes of welfare regimes and the immobility against irresistible
pressures, attention is currently directed at welfare state change.
Whereas there is a new consensus that welfare states in fact change a
lot, there is little agreement on the drivers of welfare state change,
on the measurement of change, or on the impact of change.
The PhD. course will address both overall conceptions of change and
change within particular subfields, including methodological approaches
to comparative analysis. It is organized as a mixture of keynote
presentations and parallel sessions discussing papers by the PhD. students.
Responsible: Professor Jørgen Goul Andersen, Aalborg University &
Professor Bent Greve, Roskilde University
