How sad they are here in Beverley where I live... Many of us from the Mental Health Action Group know Bernie and always found him to be very entertaining and a lovely guy to talk with.
Bernie need our support; he is 'different' which should be celebrated not 'crimialised'. This put all disabled people in danger of getting asbos because of our 'differences'.
This is a 'criminalistion' of disablede peoples' 'impairments' and is unlawful and basic human rights abuses.
This must go down as victimisation and harrasment (disability discrimination and hate-crimes) against Bernie and violation, infringement and abuse of his basic human rights.
I myself as a NeuroDiverse disabled activist has come up against the warth of the local Police and East Riding Of Yorkshire Council and other public bodies myself on numerous occasions, as Adrian Whyatt and others are well informed.
People like Bernie's of the world are very vulnerable and easy targets. Hearing the news Bernie is so sad and angered a few of us within MHAG and our allies.
As I have said it before as a disabled peoples' activist, educator and advisor to various Government Departments, including the EHRC/DoH, that EHRC need to start starting action on these kind of cases from a disability discrimination, disability hate crimes and basic human rights abuses. ASBO Concern with Adrian and I started to bring to the attention these inappropraite uses of ASBO's agint vulnerable 'disabled people' a few year ago and I know that Liberty was taken up this matter too.
DAN will need to bring the inappropraite use of ASBO's against disabled people when we meet up with Shami Chakrabarti and other at Liberty in October.
Autistic Rights Movement (ARM) and Mental Health Survivors movements should also be greatly concerned and 'speak-out' too, withg the wider disability rights movement, due to many ND's and those living with mental/emotional distress have 'different' behaviour being at great 'risk' here with asbos being placed on then for their 'differences'.
I would advise none of you to come and viis in Beverley if you area 'disabled-person and 'different'; ERYC and local Police don't welcome 'disabled people' into their town as you can see.
You are all welcome to join-me and others in Beverley in doing some organised protests here.
I have done this myself isolated in Beverley for years and would welcome anmy support.
I have invited many of you to Beverley to join me in the past, but only Adrian Whyatt has been brave enough to come to Beverley to take these public bodies on 'with-me'.
