In one sense I think cornelius is right, Bletchley Park shouldn't be
save "for the nation". Rather, if we still think that the defeat of the
Nazis was a good idea, not just for Britain, but also for Europe and
perhaps the rest of the world, then it should be saved for all of us.
Equally, if we think that computers have been a benefit for humanity at
large, we should also save Bletchley for its role in the development of
same. This needn't degenerate into a pointless debate about nationalism,
nor indeed the definition of "cultures", what ever they are ;-)
Oh and how ironic that Turing was eventually busted for being gay!
