A PSI TRAINING COURSE ON  ESTIMATING SAMPLE SIZES IN CLINICAL TRIALS -
16 & 17 SEPTEMBER 2008

  

There is just over one week left to register and obtain the early bird
discount for the 2-day training course "Estimating Sample Sizes in
Clinical Trials" on 16th & 17th September, presented by Steven A.
Julious at Devere Latimer Place, Buckinghamshire, HP5 1UG.     

This course will describe calculations for sample size estimation in the
design of clinical trials.  Different clinical trial objectives and
types of data will be discussed pertinent to how these impact on sample
size calculations.  The methods will be illustrated through the use of
worked examples and practicals. 

The following topics will be covered:

*	Sample Sizes for Different Clinical Trial Objectives 
*	Sample Sizes for Different Types of Data 
*	Clinical Trial Designs 
*	How Design Considerations Impact on the Sample Size 
*	Other Considerations when Designing a Trial 
*	Sample Size Worked Examples

For those unfamiliar with the location, the hotel is easily accessible
by train and car, and from airports.  Please find details below. 

By Car 
Exit the M25 at Junction 18 take the A404 towards Amersham.  After 2
miles turn right, signposted Latimer and Chenies.  Proceed through
Chenies Village and after 1 mile turn right at the crossroads,
signposted Latimer.  Turn left at the Village Green proceed up the hill.
The entrance gates to Latimer Place are 50 yards on the left.

By Train: 
Chalfont & Latimer station is five minutes by car from the Centre.  The
station is on the Metropolitan tube line and BR's Chiltern line
connecting into London Marylebone.  Taxis should be pre-booked from the
station by calling Reception on (01494) 764422. 

By Air: 
Heathrow London Airport - approx 24 miles.
